S2 Grupo achieves the prestigious Common Criteria EAL2 + certification
- This is the most internationally recognized and rigorous security certification.
- Specifically, the tools of S2 Grupo CARMEN and GLORIA have been endorsed by Common Criteria EAL2 +
September 16, 2021.- S2 Grupo, a company specialized in cybersecurity and critical systems management, has achieved the prestigious Common Criteria EAL2 + certification, which is considered the most rigorous international standard in the field of security.
Specifically, its CARMEN and GLORIA tools have been certified with Common Criteria EAL2 +. This certification allows to accredit the adequate protection of the tools through an evaluation carried out by an independent laboratory that determines the adequate compliance with the security criteria established in the security declaration. The laboratory must, of course, be accredited to perform this task.
“It is a milestone for two European and Spanish tools to obtain this degree of cybersecurity. And, the best thing is that this benefits the entire society. CARMEN and GLORIA are already widely used by public administrations led by the CCN and, of course, by private entities”, said José Rosell, managing partner of S2 Grupo.
“Common Criteria is an international standard that guarantees the security of the capabilities of these tools. Having this certification has prompted an even more in-depth review of CARMEN and GLORIA's internal control and audit mechanisms to enable them to operate also in classified networks and to comply with all levels of the National Security Scheme. This is an absolute guarantee of their processes”, Miguel A. Juan, managing partner of S2 Grupo.
About the cybersecurity platforms CARMEN & GLORIA
While CARMEN is the advanced protection tool against IT threats and aims to detect advanced cyberattacks, GLORIA is the platform that applies advanced intelligence to infrastructures to detect security threats and manage them effectively.
The cybersecurity company has developed these tools with the support of the CCN-CERT (Information Security Incident Response Capacity of the National Cryptological Center, attached to the National Intelligence Center), whose mission is to contribute to the improvement of Spanish cybersecurity. It is the national alert and response center that cooperates and helps to respond quickly and efficiently to cyber-attacks and to actively address cyber threats.
CCN-CERT uses CARMEN and GLORIA for the provision of its cybersecurity services in the Spanish public administration and S2 Grupo uses them both in the public and private sectors, as a specialist company in cybersecurity and a benchmark in the sector, which as a great differential factor has its own technology.
CARMEN and GLORIA are immersed in a process of constant evolution, adapting to the needs detected by both clients and the security analyst teams that operate them, seeking to optimize processes and provide additional detection capabilities.
